Science on Tap

I was featured by the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech as the speaker for NRV Science on Tap.

I pulled out all the outreach stops I could– bringing a research poster, diagrams, props, live mosquitoes, and of course my mosquito costume.

Showing off a few tools used for mosquito collection. (Left) a BG sentinel trap. (Right) BG mosquito scent baits.

This was my longest speaking event of my career so far. I got the chance to talk about mosquitoes for just over an hour!

We pulled in quite the audience! I think everyone wanted to know how to keep mosquitoes away.
